How do we build and sustain learning spaces that nurture our collective well-being and mental health?

Field Trip: November 5th, 2021 10-11:30 PT

Workshop: November 18th, 2021 12-1:00 PT

Despite the growing conversation about educating the whole child, nourishment of the mental, emotional, and physical self is regularly crowded out by other priorities. But in the face of the isolation and lasting hardships associated with Covid-19, we’re called to flip that script.

This month we’ll dig into organizations that are prioritizing individual and collective well-being — putting a stake in the ground that it’s not a nice-to-have, but something that requires intentional design and focus. Access to this month’s experiences start at $25.

On November 18, we’ll offer a protected space for you to tend to your own well-being. We will share practices for calming our bodies, and will dedicate this hour to taking care of ourselves and each other.

Rooted in the belief that “we can’t practice self-care without community care,” we’ll learn from A Burnout and Vicarious Trauma Toolkit by Larissa Pham. We’ve designed this space with the hope that you’ll leave with a renewed sense of connection with yourself and your community.

Our approach to this workshop was informed by this essay: Reclaiming Audre Lorde’s Radical Self-Care, by Kathleen Newman-Bremang

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
